The Clinical Trials Support Centre of Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin (PMU) is a consortium of a medical university and two clinical hospitals: Independent Public Clinical Hospital No. 1 of the Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin and SPublic Clinical Hospital No. 2 of the Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin.

The CTSC will serve administrative purposes and will be a venue for research and development activities undertaken by consortium members e.g. to implement grants in the fields of translational medicine and clinical trials. The establishment of the CTSC will make it possible to harmonise the organisational structure, provide comprehensive restructuring of IT processes, and modernise the existing facilities in order to facilitate the initiation and performance of commercial and non-commercial clinical trials.

Principal advantages:
  • In the years 2016–2020, the hospitals were involved in a total of 50 commercial and non-commercial clinical trials.
  • Translating the existing research on molecular genetics, anatomical pathology, histopathology of cancers, immunology, and other in vitro studies, especially ongoing research by Cancer Diagnostics and Treatment Center PMU, into actual clinical trials.
