The 18th General Assembly of the Polish Clinical Research Network was held on 23–24 April at the newly opened Jagiellonian Clinical Research Support Centre in Kraków.

The first day of the meeting took place at the University Children’s Hospital in Kraków. The programme focused on key aspects of clinical research development, including patient involvement (Patient & Public Involvement) in research projects, effective management of imaging data, and a practical “from hospital to trial” model based on the experience of centres in Cambridge. Improvements in study contracting processes were also discussed, along with the CRO perspective on site selection.

On the second day, the proceedings continued at the Jagiellonian Clinical Research Support Centre of the Jagiellonian University. The most important updates in the ethical evaluation of clinical trials were presented, including the FAST-EU procedure and best practices of the National Bioethics Committee. Discussions also addressed effective team building for study coordinators—both in terms of quality and operations—as well as the role of patient information as the first step in the feasibility process. The programme was complemented by a panel discussion entitled “From Idea to Study – Financing Medical Procedures in Non-Commercial Clinical Research.”

The General Assembly of the Polish Clinical Research Network is a key recurring meeting of representatives of PSBK member centres, aimed at exchanging experiences, discussing development directions, and coordinating activities in the field of clinical research.
